The huge population of the city of Ahmedabad made it extremely vulnerable to the Covid-19 pandemic. And when the disease is known to be highly infectious, public transportation could turn into one of the worst carriers.

Passenger safety.

1. Sanitization of all BRTS stations, depots and buses.
2. Rapid antigen detection test(RADT) at Depots and at high density stations..

4. Limiting passenger capacity by seat marking on seats in the bus and stations
5. Body temperature checks at stations and at depots on a regular basis.
6. Deployment of additional security guards on the stations for managing queue.
7. Encouraged use of PBS system by installation of 17 new PBS stations.

Installation of sensor-based Sanitizer dispenser machine at high density BRT stations to ensure.

5. Last mile connectivity, PBS stations were added to encourage the use of cycling.

1. Deployment of additional buses based on demand and data extracted from IT systems.
2. Special service of 30 BRTS buses for medical purpose and transportation of para medical staff, infected patients and attendees doctors.
3. Monitoring of crowd by CCTV surveillance to ensure social distancing.
4. Capacity building of the crew for the measures to be taken during the operational period
5. Created qualitative insights on travel patterns, demands, route wise peak and non-peak hours to increase overall operational efficiency.
